End of the Year Recap

Today, as I sit in day 3 of the blizzard of the decade, going on day 4, I have time to update my blog and really start to make a plan for how to offer value to my guest, clients and future friends and partners. With that being said, 2023 will push me outside of my comfort zone to offer weekly recommendations on property management. This will cover all sorts of topics from setting up Airbnb to long- and short-term rentals, leases, evictions, property maintenance and more.

By providing this information to others, not only will I be able to engage with my market both property management and real estate but offer a level of hands-on perspective and experience. 2023 embarks year 4 for this small business to be beating its heart and I look forward to offering more to everyone in the near future.

Let’s start with a Fact Friday for fun!

Did you know that when you are in blizzard conditions, it is wise and recommended to clean snow away from vent stacks and chimneys on rooftops to ensure no backflow and carbon monoxide poisoning? Snowstorms can be a time to spend snuggling up with cocoa after a few hours of snow play and food in the crockpot, smiles on faces and hearts. It can also be a time of panic, stress and acknowledgment of the level of preparedness one was. After a few big dumps and not taking weather reports seriously, we now stock up on groceries and other essential items to make sure our home is filled with warmth and fun during what can be long dark and dreary days.

Today, I am thankful for a few things, first being my faith in the good Lord to keep life as positively fluid as possible. This means for me today that we (as in the HOA) are lucky as hell our guests own a pool and spa business where they are from because they have been taking care of our hot tubs and pool at the lodge while no one can get to location or travel. They also have been helping move snow and know how to use equipment, what a blessing when something like this is taking place out of our control. The fact I have no other guests at any other locations and snow removal already in place is another blessing, as I could not take care of the apartments on my own and would be seriously stressed out at home driving my family nuts and making it miserable on them to be home with me in this state. (NOT going to be that lady- because let’s face it and be real, I have been in the past.)

So as the challenges of change and the new year creep in, I urge you to be conscious of yourself and where you are going in life in every moment. Be present. Be prepared. Be positive. Push yourself to grow, and stay consistent in your growth.

See you next week friends! Cheers to snowfall and smiles!

XO Cortt
